Last night was a very special night for everyone involved in the show. For the second season in a row- Morgan, Roxy, Brendan, Jonny and I watched our premiere episode LIVE amongst our supportive families, hard working crew, and amazing producers. While it may sound like a “Rich Kids” PREMIERE PARTY would be some big, fancy, to do- that couldn’t be further from the case! No “teams”, business associates, or potential advertisers present, like one may expect at an event like this.
To be honest, we’re all a little anti-social and extremely protective of what we have all built together. The premiere party is a very sentimental time for us and we choose to keep it small. While we jokingly put #nonewfriends a la our favorite rapper DRAKE on our social media posts, in times like these- it really rings true.
As my dad and sister are out of town, my mom and her youngest brother, my uncle, Kevin came to the party with me. Before we left, I made my Mom take her first mirror selfie with me!! Afterwards, she exclaimed “ohhh that’s why you got that mirror- for your pictures! Hmmm, maybe I should get one for our house!”
We arrived to The Pheonix on La Cienega, to all the usual suspects. Between bites of truffled grilled cheese and fried chicken sandwiches (vivi sustained on white wine and held out for matsuhisa after… yes i broke my own rule and had SUSHI ON A SUNDAY! more on that experience in a later blog) we all mixed and mingled nervously— with a countdown to showtime clock ever-ticking in our heads…
While I know millions of people will be watching our show, all our personal highs and lows, and of course- my hysterical crying face- I get very awkward about watching myself in a room filled people, especially all the adults and parents we are close to! I’ve been having nightmares about all the “awww” pity looks I will receive when Cooper cancels on China!!!!!!! I basically had anxiety all weekend in anticipation of those looks, but hey- I survived… and had a lot of fun celebrating with everyone!
